Merchants Property Cup

Overview: 

This is a bilateral team competition between China and Korea, sponsored by China Merchants Property, a real estate enterprise based in Shenzhen. In its current form, the tournament is reminiscent of the Lotte Cup held in 1990's.

Tournament Format: 

There are two rounds of competition. Each team sends seven players (was five in term 3 and earlier, and substitute players may be used). For round 2, each team also needs to appoint a captain. In case the overall score is a tie, result between the captains becomes the tiebreaker.

Prize Money: 
The winning team takes home 1,000,000 CNY (was 600,000 for term 3 and earlier); the losing team 500,000 CNY (was 400,000 for term 3 and earlier).
Time System: 
Each side has 2 hours and 40 minutes followed by 1-minute byoyomi (5 opportunities to go beyond 1 minute).
Ruleset and Komi: 
Chinese rule with 3 and 3/4 stones komi (equivalent to 7.5 points).
